Picardy, Pemberton region

Established in 1993, Picardy is a premium boutique winery in Western Australia’s Pemberton region, owned by Bill, Sandra, and Dan Pannell. Bill and Sandra, pioneers of the Margaret River region, founded Moss Wood in 1969, helping establish it as a key wine-growing area. Picardy produces a range of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet varieties, all from their single vineyard in Pemberton, known for its ideal cool climate conditions. The vineyard follows sustainable practices, with handpicked, unirrigated and
cane-pruned fruit. The Pannells emphasize minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the wines to reflect the vineyard’s terroir. Their purpose built winery supports small-batch production and oak from Tonnellerie Meyrieux enhances the wines’ pure fruit expression.

OUR WINES

Picardy Pinot Noir 2022

Already radiating with pleasure, the gentle weather of 2021 has translated into a wine of up-front drinkability and charm. Slightly floral, showcasing red fruits at this stage: raspberries, strawberry compote and signature sour cherries. Stylistically more old world than new. Wedged between two bolder years, this year’s Estate Pinot has an innately refined, feminine beauty to it. As such, while never intended to catch your eye as the boldest piece of art in the gallery, its complexity and refinement will hold your gaze the longest.
